Where Movement Meets New York Style
We design activewear that performs in the studio and transitions seamlessly to the street. Every piece reflects our commitment to quality, fit, and the energy of New York’s fitness culture.
How We Bring Studio-to-Street to Life
Design Rooted in Real Movement
We start by understanding how bodies move — not just in workouts, but through every part of the day. Our design team works directly with instructors, trainers, and the Bandier community to identify what truly matters: compression that supports without restricting, seams that stay flat during high-intensity sessions, and silhouettes that look just as intentional off the mat.
Material Selection and Testing
Every fabric we use is tested for performance metrics that matter in real life — moisture-wicking speed, four-way stretch recovery, squat-proof opacity, and durability through repeated wear and washing. We source materials that balance technical function with a refined hand feel, so pieces perform like activewear but don’t feel clinical.
Prototyping for Fit and Function
Patterns are refined through multiple rounds of wear-testing. We evaluate how waistbands sit during movement, how compression holds through a full class, and whether seams cause friction or irritation. Adjustments are made until fit is consistent across sizes and body types. A legging or sports bra only moves to production when it meets our standards in motion, not just on a hanger.
Quality Control and Final Check
Before any piece reaches you, it undergoes a final inspection for stitch integrity, fabric consistency, and accurate color matching. We verify that every detail — from the placement of a logo to the tension of elastic — aligns with the prototype that passed our testing phase.
Built for Performance, Designed to Last
We choose materials based on how they perform, not just how they feel at first touch. Our fabrics are engineered to handle the demands of high-output training while maintaining their shape, color, and compression over time.
- Moisture-wicking synthetics that dry quickly and resist odor buildup
- Four-way stretch knits that return to shape after repeated movement
- Flatlock seams that stay smooth against skin during extended wear
- Squat-proof opacity tested across all colorways and lighting conditions
- Colorfast dyes that resist fading through wash cycles
The Community Behind the Brand
Bandier exists because of the people who wear it — instructors leading sunrise spin classes, trainers programming circuits, runners logging miles before work, and everyone navigating the space between structured workouts and daily life. Our team stays connected to that community, listening to feedback, observing how pieces hold up in real conditions, and evolving our approach based on what we learn.
We’re not interested in activewear as a category exercise. We’re focused on creating pieces that solve real problems for people who move, whether that’s a legging waistband that doesn’t roll during burpees or a sports bra that provides genuine support without digging into shoulders.
What Drives Our Approach
Function-First Design
We prioritize performance features that make a measurable difference during activity — compression that supports muscle movement, breathability that manages heat, and construction that eliminates friction points.
New York Energy
Our design language reflects the pace and aesthetic of New York fitness culture — clean lines, intentional details, and a polished look that works in high-intensity environments and beyond.
Honest Durability
We build pieces to maintain their performance characteristics through repeated wear. Fabrics retain compression, seams stay intact, and colors resist fading because that’s what daily use demands.
Versatility Without Compromise
Studio-to-street means pieces perform technically during workouts and integrate naturally into everyday wardrobes. We don’t dilute functionality to achieve style — both are built into the design from the start.
From New York Studios to Your Wardrobe
Bandier started from a straightforward observation: the activewear available didn’t match the demands of New York’s fitness scene or the aesthetic expectations of the people moving through it. There was a gap between technical sportswear that looked like gym equipment and fashion pieces that couldn’t handle an actual workout.
We built the brand to fill that gap — creating activewear that performs like serious athletic gear but looks intentional enough to wear before and after training. Our focus has remained consistent: design pieces that solve real fit and function challenges, test them in real conditions, and refine until they meet the standards of people who take both movement and style seriously.
